About

Councilmember Beasley is a lifelong Kentuckian and a proud resident of District 8. She has been a community leader and served as PTA President for Tates Creek High School since 2021. Outside of Council, Amy works for the Kroger Pharmacy. In this role, she also serves as the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Chief Stewart for the local 227 chapter, as well as President of the Bluegrass Central Labor Council. Advocating for the rights of her fellow employees has been a role she has proudly held for over 20 years. As the mother of four children and a dedicated mentor in our community, Amy decided to run for council to address the needs of children in her district. Fighting food insecurity, barriers to mental health support and addressing the root causes of youth gun violence are the top priorities for her on council. Amy serves on the Social Services and Public Safety Council Committee and the Environmental Quality and Public Works Council Committee. She is a 2013 graduate of Emerge Kentucky, a program that trains women to run for public office. She is proud to be the first female councilmember ever elected to represent the 8th District. She considers it an honor and privilege to serve in this seat.
